Gracie is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with an education in Art Therapy from the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute (VATI). Gracie’s studies at VATI culminated in a final research project, where she focused on bridging the gap in knowledge between Art Therapy and the Dynamic Maturational Model of Attachment and Adaptation (DMM).
Therapeutically, Gracie operates from an attachment-based lens and an Art Therapy lens, both of which can help clients move past unconscious blocks and explore the deep-rooted issues beneath presenting concerns. Some of Gracie’s favourite presenting concerns to work with include: people who avoid their feelings, relationship dynamics and conflict, healing past trauma, anger, and sexual dysfunction.

Get to Know…
Nothing lights me up more than travelling! Whether it’s a road trip within Ontario or a flight to a different country, I love getting out of my regular routine and exploring new environments. When I’m not travelling, some of my favourite things to do are hiking (or really just most outdoor activities), painting, exercising, or spending time with my cats, Pekoe and Pongo.
Personally.
I’ve always had a desire to help people. I began attending therapy myself when I was 14, and have had a few different therapeutic experiences since then. One that was most eye opening for me was a therapist who used art-making during our sessions. Suddenly, I wasn’t so anxious when I talked, I found myself excited to attend sessions, and I was opening up to her more. This experience inspired me to pursue Art Therapy, and to try merging this way of conducting therapy with my other clinical interests, like relationship dynamics and attachment.

You don’t have to carry this on your own.
